Roofing FAQs

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?
Age and scope of damage are the two biggest factors. Roofs under 15 years with localized damage often make sense to repair. Roofs over 20 years, or those with widespread granule loss, multiple leak points, or structural deck damage, typically warrant full replacement. Jack will give you a straight answer during the free assessment — no upsell pressure.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential replacements in Northern Virginia are completed in one day. Larger homes or complex roof geometry (multiple dormers, steep pitch, lots of valleys) may take two. We never leave a roof exposed overnight — if we can't finish in the scheduled window, we come back with more crew.
What's the best shingle for Northern Virginia weather?
NoVA gets it all: summer heat, ice dams in winter, hail in spring, and tropical-strength wind in hurricane season. Architectural shingles rated for 130+ mph wind with Class 4 impact resistance are a solid choice for most homes. Jack can also show you metal options if you want maximum longevity.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We can connect you with financing options that spread the cost over time — some with 0% interest introductory periods. Ask about it during your free assessment and we'll explain the options alongside your quote.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
You get both a manufacturer's material warranty (typically 30 years to lifetime depending on the product) and our own workmanship warranty. Both are documented in writing at project completion.
Can I install solar panels on my new roof?
Absolutely — and the best time to plan for solar is before your new roof goes on. We can coordinate panel placement with roofing layout to avoid penetrations in the wrong spots, and we offer solar services directly. Learn more about our solar services →
